Diversity is a part of life in Metro Vancouver – something that makes our community stronger and more vibrant. But in the past few years, we’ve learned our society doesn’t always foster an environment that allows diversity, equity, and inclusion to thrive.

In a new video series, A Different Side of Real Estate, members of our DEI Advisory Group share their personal stories of discrimination they’ve faced in our profession.

Check out the first episode featuring REALTOR® Gemma Wilson:

These videos aren’t intended to name and shame, instead they’re intended to spark a conversation. With that in mind, we encourage you to share this video with your colleagues, and start a conversation with them about your own experiences.

Together we can start the change today.

REBGV’s DEI program

This video series is part of REBGV’s DEI program which seeks to further our commitment to help all people thrive in our profession and our communities.

Your Board launched this program in 2020 by joining the lieutenant governor of BC’s “Different Together” campaign that affirmed our commitment to stand up against racism and promote respect and opportunity for all people.

Since then, we’ve created a DEI statement, struck a DEI Advisory Group made up of Realtors and Board staff, and trained Board staff on DEI and unconscious bias.

We plan on hosting more DEI programs and events for our members in the coming months. Keep an eye on our communications for more information.
