Greater Vancouver REALTORS® (GVR) signed a memorandum of understanding this month with the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) Institute to help enhance our commercial service offerings to members.

CCIM is recognized across North America as the standard bearer for commercial real estate education and expertise.

The two organizations have collaborated on different commercial real estate endeavours over the years, and this agreement is intended to formalize and expand this long-standing working relationship.

“This agreement strengthens the ties between the two organizations with the aim of enhancing the knowledge and expertise of commercial real estate practitioners within our membership,” Jeff King, GVR CEO said. “This collaboration will also help us raise the quality of the commercial real estate services and resources we provide members over the long term.”

Through this partnership, GVR will be able to:

  • Provide more CCIM educational opportunities for members looking to gain or enhance their commercial real estate expertise
  • Hold events and disseminate articles and other resources featuring commercial real estate experts associated with CCIM
  • Strike a commercial advisory work group with our CCIM partners to provide expert insight and guidance on how we can expand and strengthen our commercial services

"In this exciting relationship with the GVR, CCIM Western Canada Chapter recognizes the unique opportunity to reach unprecedented scale of access to Realtors wishing to join the elite investment community the CCIM designation pin represents,” Steve Da Cruz, President, CCIM Western Canada Chapter said. “Together, a new gold standard of excellence can directly benefit our Realtors, our associations and, most importantly, our communities."

Improved commercial services

This is just one of many actions GVR is taking to improve commercial real estate services. We also:

  • invested recently in upgrades to the Commercial Edge service to expand coverage across BC and Alberta,
  • created a commercial real estate news publication for members, and
  • redesigned the commercial broadcast system.

Watch for different commercial real estate opportunities that arise throughout 2024 as a result of this joint partnership.
