REALTOR® James Wesley ‘Jim’ Williams passed away in January. He was 75.

Jim was born and raised in Alberta, growing up on the prairies. He was a member of Scouts Canada, achieving their highest honour, the Queen’s Scout Award. He went on to attend the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology where he met the love of his life, Joyce. They were married in 1970 and had a son and daughter in the next two years.

In 1974, Jim became a Realtor in Alberta with RE/MAX. He’d sell homes for the next 48 years, from Alberta to Maple Ridge and eventually Abbotsford once the family moved to British Columbia. He was proud to be affiliated with RE/MAX and loved to mentor new Realtors, freely sharing his time, advice, and expertise with anyone who asked.

In 2016, Jim found a new passion in the Abbotsford Horseshoe Club. He was a key figure in the club’s revitalization, growing the youth membership of the club and inspiring a new generation of players.

Jim passed away bravely and peacefully from pulmonary fibrosis with his wife and children at his side, along with his brother, and sister-in-law. Before he died, he prioritized connecting, saying goodbye to his grandchildren, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, his loving canine buddy, his extended family, and an endless number of friends and colleagues, to make sure they were okay and to tell them how much he cared about them.

At Jim’s request, in lieu of flowers, please send any donations to the Abbotsford Horseshoe Club Smeeth Youth League, so that the work he started can continue long into the future. Email abbotsfordhorseshoes@gmail.com for info on how to donate.
