Many members responded to the video, sharing sentiments ranging from surprise to dismay. A sentiment shared in all responses, however, was that awareness of these issues is important for us to move forward as a profession.

This video series is part of REBGV’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program which seeks to further our commitment to help all people thrive in our profession and our communities. Watch our first video featuring Realtor Gemma Wilson. 

Your Board launched this program in 2020 by joining the lieutenant governor of BC’s “Different Together” campaign that affirmed our commitment to stand up against racism and promote respect and opportunity for all people.

Since then, we’ve created a DEI statement, struck a DEI Advisory Group made up of Realtors and Board staff, and trained Board staff on DEI and unconscious bias.

We plan on hosting more DEI programs and events for our members in the coming months. Keep an eye on our communications for more information.
