A Different Side of Real Estate, a new video series tied to REBGV's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program, presents an open dialogue focused on creating a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all people involved in real estate.

Our latest video features REALTOR® Ray Arneja’s story about how rumours and gossip intertwined with misperceptions of new immigrants created challenges for Realtors and developers who’d only been in Canada for a few years.

Listen to Ray’s story below:

These videos aren’t intended to name and shame, instead they’re intended to spark a conversation. With that in mind, we encourage you to share this video with your colleagues and start a conversation with them about your own experiences.

REBGV’s DEI program

Our DEI program seeks to further our commitment to help all people thrive in our profession and our communities. We launched this program in 2020 by joining the lieutenant governor of BC’s “Different Together” campaign that affirmed our commitment to stand up against racism and promote respect and opportunity for all people.

Since then, we’ve created a DEI statement, struck a DEI Advisory Group made up of Realtors and Board staff, and trained Board staff on DEI and unconscious bias.

Keep an eye on our communications for more details about REBGV's future DEI initiatives and events.
